Bills in the News
When the Senate returns, under Sen. Reid’s prioritization, they will be discussing the PIPA Bill; which is the internet censorship bill. Click on the link to read it all and share it with your online communities. This is important information.
On January 23rd, the United States Senate will reconvene to begin legislative business for 2012. After the first order of business is taken care of, Majority Leader Harry Reid will then continue the process he started on December 17th of moving PIPA towards a Senate floor vote….
On January 24th, Majority Leader Reid’s cloture motion will have matured its 30 hours and he will then be allowed to call for an up-or-down vote on moving forward to consider PIPA. If three-fifths of the U.S. Senate agree by voting yes on cloture (ending debate), then the bill can be taken up for consideration and the process where Senators can offer amendments will begin as well as another cloture motion (resulting in another 30 hours of debate). …
However, if 60 Senators do not vote yes on cloture, then Senators Wyden, Moran, Cantwell, and Paul will be allowed to continue to speak in opposition to PIPA forever. That being said, what would likely happen in the aftermath if PIPA fails to gain 60 yes votes is the bill is withdrawn and a compromise is negotiated. If no compromise is possible, then the bill officially dies. It is important to note that three-fifths of the Senate must vote yes to move PIPA forward. For example, if 59 Senators voted yes on cloture and 41 Senators voted present or do not vote at all, it fails to pass. The key factor in cloture is three-fifths of the Senate voting yes on cloture and not how many votes are against PIPA.
Considering that “the stop-SOPA coalition AmericanCensorship” is encouraging constituents to visit their senators’ offices in-person and demand they be part of the 41 PIPA opponent, we can expect there to be more to come from this grassroots effort.
. . . $94 million spent in lobbying in support of PIPA

The next Senate business on the agenda will be signing into law Presidetn Obama’s S. 1867, (“NDAA”, the defense authorization bill). This bill is supported by only 3% of Open Congress users (read the report ) — its controversial detention provisions & legislative context.

The important thing to remember is that YOU need to BECOME INVOLVED in your government. If you choose not to, to be complacent or believe “all is well” when it’s not, will have a rude awakening coming.
Government will continue to grow and do more damage: continuing to be out of control and doing what it pleases!
We Can Always Print More Money!
Believe it or not, I heard one Democrat seriously say, “So what? What’s wrong with spending and continuing to raise the debt ceiling? The man really did not see a problem with overspending and continuing to spend money on programs that we can’t afford. Neither did this man see a problem with our credit rating being lowered or the U.S. owing so much money to China and other creditors. It’s unbelievable that politicians, who have responsibility of our money, actually believe this way.
It makes me wonder if they think it’s okay to overspend this same way in their personal lives?
Do they really think that continuing to spend more money than they have and then collecting what they need from tax payers is the responsible way to handle “the People’s money”?
Do they really think they can continue to spend this way without there being a “Day of Reckoning”?
Do they even care that our position in the world is at risk or is that the goal?
Do they really think that lowering our credit rating is okay? What would they think if their own employer’s credit rating was lowered because of overspending?
The truth is, your rights and “The American Way of Life” will be changed if they continue to have their way! Your lives and your children’s lives will change as well! Worst of all, America’s future will become very bleak (hopeless, disparaging, and dreary). The “American Spirit” will be gone and no longer exist! No longer will America be a symbol to others of hope and of dreams becoming reality.
This is NOT what I want for America. Is it what you want? If not, then become active and help us protect America or we will lose our Way of Life! We do this by keeping up-to-date with what’s happening in the news. Also, we become informed so we know that what we believe is true and can intelligently discuss topics with others. Perhaps my reports help you fulfill this objective.
