Being an accountable person today is not something we often see. Our society has changed and now most of us expect others to take responsibility for our needs. That’s why this report is so timely.
We are becoming more socialistic in our demands from government, and the Liberal point of view is becoming the common center instead of the left. Now the right is thought of as fanatical. The truth is that society is no longer conservative and self-sufficient.
People are becoming more aware of dirty politician’s actions and are standing up to them. They expect their leaders to be accountable as well as they are expected by politicians to be accountable, but politicians haven’t gotten the message yet. I am pleased to see that the people demand more from their politicians now.
Although the people expect accountability from their politicians, too many of us are not accountable citizens. We buy houses we can’t afford and then expect to be bailed out of our mistakes. Businesses run their company into the ground and yet their CEOs take large bonuses and buy expensive things. Banks get a huge bailout from Congress to stimulate the economy but they use it to buy other banks and to reward the very people who pushed their banks into trouble.
Even our own President and Democratic Leadership took large payoffs from ACORN to push ahead deals that should never have been made. No ethics, no remorse, no conscience, no penalties for their actions.
I am grateful that President Obama is bringing people together as one nation under God without race being a factor. I feel good about his desire to do the right thing for America. However, I am truly disturbed that people looked past his ACORN association, the money he and his party took from them, and the promises he’s made to make them part of his administration.
What I just said has nothing to do with President Obama’s race, even though some may claim I am a racist for these remarks, and everything to do with what is right and wrong. I don’t understand why the majority of Americans don’t have a problem with the situation. That bothers me.
Are Americans accountable or not? Are American Politicians accountable or not? Are American businesses accountable or not?
